LEDs are used in a great variety of electronic devices, with an upward trend. The design of corresponding test fixtures requires a very high level of individual and creative solutions, and particularly a long time of experience.
The design of test fixtures often requires a horizontal contacting of the DUT additionally to the standard vertical contacting of the board. FEINMETALL now offers a mechanical side access unit with a maximum travel of 14 mm.
Push back tests are generally performed for testing safety relevant wire harnesses and connectors. With this test the correct position of the contact pins and the electrical function of the contact elements in the connector are tested. With the new push back probe V03 FEINMETALL now offers an eminently economical solution for push back tests at 3mm centers.
The Pylon-Receiver is a modular test concept for interchangeable vacuum cassettes with a modular configuration out of different fixture steps. Initially the interface-receiver serves as a connection or assembly of any random individual electronic measuring equipment. This is docked at the FEINMETALL-Receiver over a prevalent Pylon-interface.
Problem:
The test of printed boards, which are tested after a longer shelf time or in an unclean state, often challenge the application of the spring contact probes with a process problem. The surface area of, for e.g. lead-free soldering pads, exhibits viscous /stringy flux-contamination as also harder and thicker oxide layers. Such surface areas and intensified addition of contamination at the contact tips lead to a deterioration of the electrical characteristic during tests. Moreover the mechanical penetration gets all the more difficult and thereby reducing the life cycle of the contact tips considerably.
FEINMETAL GmbH is one of the 100 most innovative small and mediumsized companies (SME s) in Germany. The company has been awarded a seal of approval in the 16th Top 100 corporate benchmarking competition for its systematic, well thought out and successful innovation management. Lothar Spaeth, former state premier of Baden-Wuerttemberg, presented this prestigious award to FEINMETAL GmbH at an official ceremony in Düsseldorf‘s Meilenwerk building on Friday, 4 July 2008.
Pneumatic test-fixtures play an important role in the testing and measuring technology. They contact the DUT and the electronic measuring equipment electrically by implementing spring contact probes. In this segment FEINMETALL has designed and developed a new revolving plate test fixture, which is not only capable for functional test, but also includes other important features.

In course of the previous year the cooperation between Noffz and FEINMETALL has been intensified and FEINMETALL can now offer complete solutions including test hardware and software to its valued customers in the field of electrical testing (ICT and FT).
The new switch probe family F888 designed and developed by FEINMETALL provides a double-edged advantage over conventional switch probes. The F888 can be applied for lateral contacting and the intelligent technical solution also leads to a higher life-cycle during vertical contacting with impact of transverse forces.
The product family "Kelvin Probes" is a significant part of the FEINMETALL product range. These probes have been developed for the measurement of low-impedance resistances. The new generation of Kelvin probes combines solderfree exchange with clever design and outstanding frequency response.
Contact probes play an important role in the wire harness and connector test technology. One of the three corporate segments of FEINMETALL specialises in the design, development and production of top – quality spring contact probes for connector and cable harness test.
We gladly announce the successful auditing of FEINMETALL Singapore Pte. Ltd. With this step we guarantee our Asian customers top quality semiconductor products in the Wafer – Probing technology.
