As a computer scientist (m/f/d), you transfer processes from the real world to computer systems. To do this, you translate project requirements into models, which you then map onto software systems. The variety of possible applications is almost limitless.

You are planning to study, but you are not one of those people who only want to deal with things theoretically?
You want to combine theory with practice and benefit from your studies in the long term? You love variety and are looking for real challenges? Do you value individual support and don't want to be one of many? Do you also want to acquire interdisciplinary skills? Then you fit perfectly into the profile of the dual Bachelor program of the DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen and Feinmetall.
With the dual bachelor program at Feinmetall in cooperation with the DHBW you decide for a successful future. Your coordinated schedule provides for a constant alternation between university and company life. Three exciting months in the company are followed by three challenging and instructive months at the DHBW. What you learn there you can apply at our company. All in all, a perfect symbiosis. And this is exactly your advantage, guaranteeing you excellent career opportunities: Compared to university graduates of the same age, you bring valuable professional experience with you and can therefore develop your potential earlier and more effectively in the company. This is not only a great advantage for you in terms of your career, but also saves the company a lot of costs and effort, making you even more attractive as an employee.
During the three-month practical phases at Feinmetall, you will first get to know a variety of different areas at our company. This ranges from planning to production to sales of our products. Of course, the intensity and duration in the individual areas depends on your course of study and your preferences. However, it is important to us that you acquire holistic skills with us. To this end, you will learn the different processes and programs of the individual divisions. In addition to teaching you important hard skills, we prepare you specifically to take on responsibility and to carry out projects independently or as part of a team.
We also offer our students the opportunity to spend part of their practical time abroad at one of our subsidiaries. And these are located in international hotspots such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Singapore, Mexico City, Berkeley (California) or Hsinchu (Taiwan). Exciting, attractive and future-oriented cities that will make you a global player.
My name is Ruben Walz and in 2014, following a vocational training, I started my dual study program with a focus on industrial engineering at Feinmetall GmbH.
I am studying industrial engineering with a specialization in electrical engineering, as this fits best with the products of Feinmetall GmbH. At the beginning, it is of course very difficult to choose the right course for you from the abundance of courses. I decided to study industrial engineering because it combines technical and business management content and is therefore very varied. The course consists of the basics of electrical engineering, business administration, mathematics, physics as well as law, marketing and many other subjects. This is the optimal basis for a later job in one of the operational interfaces between the economic and technical areas.
Once you have decided on a course of study, you have to apply to potential training companies. Here, Feinmetall GmbH was my personal favorite, as it is an innovative medium-sized company that is represented worldwide and regularly sets new standards in an interesting and complex field.
Another point that supported my decision is that the location of Feinmetall GmbH is close to my home and there is cooperation with the location of the DHBW in Stuttgart.
During my studies, there was never a moment when I regretted my decision to do a dual study program at Feinmetall GmbH. The support of the managers in projects as well as the friendly colleagues and the flat hierarchies make for a pleasant working atmosphere in which you can develop very well.
Furthermore, Feinmetall GmbH allowed me to work abroad at the Singapore branch. This was an enormous vote of confidence and an incredibly great experience. The foreign assignment was a highlight of my studies, as I was able to get to know a foreign culture by working in the branch. In the end, I can say that I am glad to be a part of Feinmetall GmbH.
