Flying Probe

A Flying Probe is a specially developed Contact Probe for use in Flying Probe test systems. It is moved dynamically to target individual test points on printed circuit boards and test them electrically without a fixed needle field.

Thanks to its precise mechanics and high positioning accuracy, it enables flexible testing processes, especially for small batch sizes, prototypes, or frequently changing layouts.

FAQ

Flying probe systems enable continuity tests, resistance measurements, capacitance measurements, diode tests, and Functional Tests of individual networks on the printed circuit board, among other things.

No fixed needle field is required. This eliminates adapter costs and setup times, which is particularly advantageous in terms of cost-effectiveness for prototypes, small series, and frequent layout changes.

High positioning accuracy is crucial for reliably contacting small test pads or fine pitch structures without damaging adjacent structures.
