Barrel diameter

The barrel diameter refers to the outer diameter of the contact pin barrel and is specified in millimeters (mm).

The body diameter is a key parameter for the fit in the Receptacle and influences the precise guidance of the Plunger as well as the mechanical stability of the Contact Probe.

A precisely defined body diameter ensures that Contact Probes can be reliably inserted and guarantees high interchangeability within contact systems.

FAQ

It determines the fit accuracy in the Receptacle and affects the Plunger’s guidance as well as the mechanical stability of the Contact Probe.

The receptacle diameter is subject to tight manufacturing tolerances, as even slight deviations can affect the fit in the receptacle. Excessive tolerances lead to play or interference fit problems and impair the function of the Contact Probe.

An optimally matched shaft diameter reduces friction and mechanical stress. This minimizes wear and extends the Lifetime of the Contact Probe.
