Plunger
The plunger is the movable element of a Spring Contact Probe. It establishes direct electrical contact with the Test Point and is pressed against the contact surface by the spring. During contacting, the plunger moves axially in the Barrel, ensuring a stable, reproducible electrical connection despite mechanical tolerances in the test setup.
FAQ
Axial movement allows tolerances between the test system and the test specimen to be compensated for and ensures reproducible contacting.
The plunger is precisely guided in the barrel of the Contact Probe and pressed toward the Test Point by a Spring.
The material, coating, spring force, and number of test cycles all affect the wear and lifetime of the Plunger.
