Flying Probe Testing
The Flying Probe Test is a test method for electrical testing of printed circuit boards, in which movable test units sequentially contact individual test points. Unlike adapter-based tests, no dedicated Test Fixture is required.
The Flying Probe Test is particularly suitable for prototypes, small series, and applications with frequent layout changes, as it is flexibly adaptable and incurs low setup costs.
FAQ
Typical tests include continuity tests, short-circuit tests, resistance measurements, capacitance measurements, and simple Functional Tests.
Especially for prototypes, pre-production series, and small series where a fixed Test Fixture is not economically viable.
ICT uses a fixed Test Fixture, while the Flying Probe Test contacts test points in a mobile and sequential manner.
