Functional Test (FCT)

The Functional Test (FCT) is an electrical test procedure used to check the function of an assembly or system under defined operating conditions. Real functional sequences, signals, and Interfaces are tested.

The FCT is often performed after the In-Circuit Test (ICT) and serves as a final test step to validate the system function.

FCT tests assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic assemblies, and complete systems to ensure that they function correctly in their intended operation.

Test systems, Test Fixtures, measuring devices, and Spring Contact Probes are often used for Functional Tests to make contact with the assembly.
