Floating push-down plate

A Floating push-down plate is a movably mounted push-down plate in the Test Fixture that facilitates controlled contact with the device under test.

Thanks to its floating mounting, it can compensate for small tolerances and alignment deviations in the test setup. This ensures that the device under test is guided more evenly to the Contact Probes and supports stable contact.

In modern Test Fixtures, the Floating push-down plate can additionally be secured by a guided retention system. This keeps it in a controlled position even if it is accidentally unlocked, enabling safe handling during maintenance and operation.
